The Task Force on SMEs is co-organized by CIBP and the European Association of Cooperative Banks (EACB). In addition, the Task Force works also in close cooperation with the European Association of Craft, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (UEAPME).

This Task Force focuses on SMEs issues of relevance for the members of both organisations, CIBP and EACB, such as European and international projects to support SMEs, initiatives and programmes of the European Investment Bank Group (EIB Group). In this context there is also a need for studying the impact of the Small Business Act on the relationship between banks and SMEs.

Main goals of the Task Force:

• Identifying, assessing, monitoring and promoting SMEs issues relating to the development of EU policy.
• Informing member organisations about developments relevant for SMEs in order to elaborate strategies and common positions towards the EU institutions, the EIF/EIB Group and other relevant decision-making bodies and organisations.
• Holding appropriate contacts with organisations representing the interests of SMEs, crafts and small entrepreneurs, such as UEAPME, and others, in order to develop, if possible and on a case-by-case basis, common initiatives, positions and projects.
