The Working Group CIBP LINK is in charge of developing and implementing the CIBP LINK Programme, which is an International Training for Executive Managers of CIBP member organisations. The first cycle was launched in 2007. The WG CIBP LINK is currently working on the implementation of the third cycle. The first of the three modules, which are planned per cycle, will be implemented by the Academy of German Cooperatives (Akademie Deutscher Genossenschaften, ADG) in Montabaur. The members of the Working Group have created this exceptional programme with the aim of setting up a strong network among members, particularly among executives belonging to middle and top management. Indeed, only with an extensive "LINK" will network member organisations be able to face existing and future challenges in the banking sector. Moreover, as customers are increasingly pursuing to do cross-border activities, cooperative banks are also willing to boost and to develop their business model worldwide. The CIBP LINK Programme combines, in an international and intercultural environment, the professional skills, the best practices and the experiences in business as well as in personal affairs of participants coming from CIBP member organisations. Participants from different CIBP member countries have the opportunity to gain experience in a broad range of subjects during the three modules: while preparing common studies, participating in debates and dealing with topics especially relevant for the cooperative banking sector, they have the chance to better understand cultural differences and to get to know other or new business practices. Each module takes place in a different CIBP member country, with the aim that participants get a better insight into CIBP member organizations as well as into their culture and everyday business. Profile of Participants: The CIBP LINK Programme is meant for executive managers coming from regional or national cooperative banking institutions with significant management experience. A good command of English is requested. Participants in the first and second cycle considered the programme a strongly recommendable experience which, as far as contents are concerned, stands out compared to other training programmes internally offered within CIBP member organizations.
